Privacy Policy

Life OS ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal life observation app developed by Burak Akkaya. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the data you actively provide:

Account information — email address, display name (optional), and timezone (auto-detected at sign-up).
Check-in responses — your daily morning and evening check-in answers (scores, selections, text).
Habit logs — records of habits you track (completion status, counts, notes).
Reflection responses — your written answers to awareness prompts.
Preferences — your check-in question customizations, habit configurations, and app settings.

2. Anonymous Usage Telemetry

To understand how the app is used and improve it, we record anonymous usage events — for example, when you open the app, view an onboarding step, complete a check-in, tap an upgrade prompt, or create a habit. These events store when something happened and which screen or button was involved, not what you wrote. We do not read or analyze the text content of your reflections, check-in answers, custom questions, or any free-form field you fill out.

Telemetry is stored in our own database alongside your account data; it is not sent to any third-party analytics provider.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

Location or GPS data
Health or biometric data from device sensors
Advertising IDs
Contacts, photos, or other device content
The text content of your reflections, check-in answers, or custom questions (we store it for you, but never read it)

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features to you:

Displaying your check-in history, habit progress, and reflections.
Generating personal insights and summaries (visible only to you).
Sending optional check-in reminders via push notifications (if you enable them).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

5. Authentication

You can sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In. We do not use or store passwords. When using Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from the provider to create your account.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit).
Row-Level Security (RLS) ensures each user can only access their own data at the database level.
A local cache is stored on your device for offline access.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can request full account deletion from the Profile screen in the app, which will permanently remove all your data from our servers.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the app:

Supabase — database, authentication, and server functions (privacy policy).
Apple / Google — authentication only, when you choose to sign in with these providers.
Expo (EAS) — app build and delivery infrastructure (privacy policy).
RevenueCat — subscription management. Receives a stable user identifier and your purchase events, never your journal content (privacy policy).
Sentry — crash reporting. Sends technical error details (stack traces, OS version, app version) when the app crashes, plus your user identifier. No personal content is included (privacy policy).
Resend — email delivery for sign-in codes and transactional emails (privacy policy).

We do not include any advertising SDKs.

9. Children's Privacy

Life OS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
